Izzy is a PhD student in the Dayer Human Dimensions Lab, with a background in environmental science & policy, as well as science communication. Their interest in human dimensions of environmental conservation began during their Master’s thesis work at Northern Arizona University, studying perceptions of air quality policy in rural Alaska. Their work in the Dayer Lab is centered around a cross-university interdisciplinary study to understand how recreational bird feeding impacts human and bird wellbeing, especially in regard to avian flu.

When they’re not working, Izzy is an avid reader; they also enjoy baking, spending time with their cats, and attending community events.
